GIVING BACK

Social enterprises, cooperatives and the non profit sector are key drivers of Oakville's social economy. HappiDogs Pet Services for "little" Dogs, invests in the social economy because we truly believe that over the long term, a healthy social economy leads to a more inclusive and sustainable community.

We feel so strongly about "Giving Back" that we have committed to donating a  portion of our profits to charitable organizations.

We support Oakville's social economy by building strategic partnerships and giving back to other like minded organizations that reflect our core values and objectives.

We are “Green Inspired” and we encourage you and your dog to be as well.  In 2001, our family adopted the Taplow Creek trail.  Since then, we have been doing our part to help keep Oakville beautiful.

When we look after your dog, walks are taken on our adopted trail or a trail near your home.  Your dog becomes a “little” Eco-Ambassador.  We really do “Walk the Talk,” keeping Oakville beautiful along the way. Feel inspired? Why not “Walk on the Wild Side” and adopt your own trail?

Yee ha! Bindy and the "HappiDogs" team walked another 5 k in support of the Oakville & Milton Humane Society.  The "Critter Gone Country" event was held October 3, 2010 at Cornwall Road Park in Oakville.  The lead sponsor was Hills Science Diet.  Other top dogs were Purina and Oliver Pets & Co.

Bindy's little legs took her through crunchy leaves, puddles and wet grass.  Brrrrr, it was cold, rainy and wet.  But that didn't matter, free treats and an awesome cause were involved.   After a long walk, Bindy and her furry friends tried to break the Guinness Record for "The Most Dogs in One Training Class."  The record wasn't broken.  Turns out, Oakville dogs are a little weather shy.  There's always next year... Bindy did it again!  This time, she walked with all her friends and distant relatives to support "Westies In Need." It was the largest "Westie" walk ever. Over 235 Westies and their owners walked for the cause.  Westies and owners were led through Mississauga Valley Park to the familiar sound of bag pipes.  After walking for the cause, Bindy, our "HappiDogs" mascot, raced for the cause.  Unfortunately, her red "HappiDogs" polo slowed her down a tad. She only placed 2nd in one race. But that didn't stop her from having fun. Who wouldn't? Goodie bags were handed out, there was a raffle table, wee Westie games, a delicious barbeque, yummy cake and "Westie Pupcakes."

Westies In Need, (WiN) is a Canadian non profit organization that provides rescue, fostering, transport, medical attention and adoption services for abused, abandoned, neglected or homeless West Highland White Terriers. (WiN) is the largest
Westie rescue organization in Canada.  If you missed the event this year, come on out and support this wonderful cause next year. You don't have to own a Westie to attend.  Thinking about another dog? Why not adopt a "West In Need." For more information, contact Corrie Yeoman at: (905) 936-6691 or visit

What is Woofstock?  It is the largest outdoor festival for dogs in all of North America.  This year it was held on June 12th & 13th, at the St. Lawrence Market.   Happy dogs and owners were every where.   Bindy and the HappiDogs team walked the red carpet next to the V.I.P. lounge.  "HappiDogs" loves Woofstock!  Take your dog to the next one.  Your dog will love meeting new friends.  Did I mention there are lots of freebies, contests, fund raisers, treats for people and dogs alike?  So much fun for the whole family.   Check it out at www.woofstock.ca

On May 30, 2009, Bindy and the “HappiDogs Team” walked for Dog Guides.  Thanks to your generous support, HappiDogs raised over $500.00 for the Oakville Lions Foundation!  Thank you so much (you all know who you are).   Mark your calendar, National Walk Day will be May 30, 2010.

Show your love, come on out and support this wonderful cause.   www.purinawalkfordogguides.com

There were big dogs and "little" dogs, white ones, brown ones and a BIG RED ONE!  One of the "Super Dogs" dropped by to show off his super duper tricks.   The weather was perfect for a walk in the Glen Abbey Trails in support of the Canadian Cancer Society.  Don't miss it next year. Who knows, Clifford may give you a hug too!

The hot dogs and burgers were flippin good!  There were doggy treats,  tricks and a fabulous silent auction!  Mayor Burton stopped by to support The Farley Foundation.  He is seen here accepting yummy home made "HappiDogs" treats for his Airedale.  The barbeque fundraiser was hosted by The  Abbey Animal Hospital.

The Farley Foundation was established by the Ontario Veterinary Medication Association (OVMA).  It is
a registered charity that assists seniors and disabled individuals on limited incomes with treatment of their pets.  In 2007 the Foundation expanded its criteria to assist pets of women at risk of abuse and their children.  For more information and to make a donation visit www.farleyfoundation.org
